Here are some ways to revise for an exam...
- Create a revision timetable if you find sticking to revision tricky and can't seem to balance work and fun
- Find your best way to revise (this may differ for each subject and individual), this could be with a friend or a group, by yourself, using a textbook, looking at past exam papers etc.
- Focus on your work!! Turn off any laptops, phones, tablets etc etc. Keeping focussed will eventually pay off
- Try to be calm when working, if you don't understand the work, try not to get frustrated, take a break and have a breather, pushing yourself to work when you aren't in the right state won't help in any way
- If you are struggling, talk to someone about it, like a teacher, parent or friend
- Don't spend all your time working because then you will feel shut off from the world and even more stressed out!
Here are some exam equipment tips...
- You should always have the right equipment for an exam, like a pen, pencil, ruler, rubber, pencil sharpener, calculator, protractor, compass etc.
- Put all of the items above in a clear pencil case to avoid losing them or misplacing any crucial items before your exam
- Make sure that your equipment works!!!!! (My calculator broke in a science mock exam and I had to work everything out by hand!!! - I got it right but it was still risky)
Here are some after exam tips...
- Don't talk to people about how they did or what questions they found hard etc. because you'll most likely end up feeling worse about how you did
- Go out and do something fun to take your mind off of it
- Have a relaxing bath and eat and entire cake (the cake probably isn't good for you so just eat half instead lol)
I hope that this was useful in some way, because I'm meant to be revising right now and got stressed so I did this instead, so be grateful!!
