Beauty Blender Knock Off!

I'm sure that everyone has heard of the infamous 'Beauty Blender' by now and I'm sure you know that eventually you have to repurchase one every so often. But - I have found that the Primark beauty blender knock off works perfectly fine!

A couple of months ago I went to have a look around in primark and found a Beauty Blender knock off for only £1.50!!

After using this sponge for a couple of months now, I have found no problems with it! Which for £1.50 is surprising.

I personally use this sponge without wetting it first, as I found that this would just water down my foundation/concealer and wouldn't work as well this way.

I haven't used the actual beauty blender before, because I don't see why I need to after using this cheap knock off from Primark.

My method
  1. Apply desired amount of foundation onto the back of your hand
  2. Gently dot the foundation across your face, using your fingers
  3. Use the bottom of the sponge (none pointed end) to gently press the foundation into the skin
  4. Then continue doing this in a circular motion, to make sure that all the foundation is blended
  5. Do this for all of your foundation, but for concealer under the eyes, do the same thing but with the pointy end of the beauty blender

You can also get another beauty blender in a different shape, I personally don't really know what difference it would make when using it.

I would definitely recommend this to everyone as it's so cheap and easy to use!

NYX Matte Lip Cream Review

I recently discovered that the shopping centre nearest to me had brought in a NYX counter to the Boots shop, so I just had to make a purchase or two!

Since everyone has been raving about how good NYX is as a whole brand, and everyone has been wearing a matte lip, I decided to kill two birds with one stone and I bought a NYX Matte Lip Cream.

I got the lip cream in the shade Abu Dhabi, which may seem like an odd name for a shade because it's a city, but NYX have all their lip cream shades (and possibly other shades) named after cities; which is interesting.

I was really happy with this product because it smelt like vanilla and that's always a bonus! The lip cream also didn't dry out my lips.

As you can see above, the shade Abu Dhabi is a fairly dark brown shade with some pink undertones. The lip cream line from NYX also provides affordable dupes for the Kylie Jenner Lip Kits! (which I will do a separate post on), the line also has loads of different shades to choose from!

The only problem I had with the lip cream was that it faded quite easily throughout the day, I don't actually think it lasted me more than an hour and a half. But the lip cream is £5.50, so I shouldn't expect miracles from it.

Overall, I would highly recommend this lip cream as it's an affordable and lovely product.

Benefit Gimme Brow Review

As you can probably tell I normally use more 'drugstore' brands of makeup such as, Rimmel, Maybelline, L'oreal. But the other day I bought a magazine which had a small sample of the Benefit Gimme Brow, and as you probably already know - I'm all about the brows!

Benefit are well known for having creative and adventurous packaging which I personally find very appealing, as you can see above, their packaging is also really cute and pretty. But you get the impression that the packaging is another reason for their products being on the more expensive side of the scale.

The product itself is really nice, it's easy to use and it keeps your eyebrows tamed and in place without feeling waxy or hard. Although I wouldn't keep buying this product because it's £18.50 (at boots) and I would rather spend that kind of money on something bigger like an eyeshadow palette.

I'm very lucky to have got mine free with a magazine, and I have nothing against the product apart from the price of it. I personally would rather find a dupe of this product that's cheaper and just as good. For example, the Maybelline brow gel, or a L'oreal brow gel.

I did like how there was a variety of shades of the brow gel as well, because the Gimme Brow is a tinted brow gel and not a clear one, and I got mine in the shade 1, because it's the lightest shade that can actually be built upon to be made darker if needed.

But if you want a clear brow gel, then I would recommend using the Miss Sporty Clear Mascara.
