Soap and Glory Sugar Crush Body Scrub Review!!
Sorry about this being quite short!!
Today I finished off the last of my Soap and Glory Sugar Crush Body Scrub - which to be honest was actually quite sad.
I was given the product for my birthday in August, so that means that this body scrub has lasted quite long. But that could be because I didn't use it every time I showered, because I didn't want to dry out my skin.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I really liked the packaging of this product, the colour's really complimented each other, which made it stand out and appeal to me in the first place, also the container is quite large, so there is enough body scrub to last quite a while!
The scrub contains sweet lime, sparkling lemons, sweet vanilla musk and almond oil, with sea salt, smashed brown sugar, glycerin and macadamia oils. The scrub smells absolute amazing!!! And it feels really nice on the skin as well,
I did find that when I used the product that, my skin became much smoother in a really short amount of time, so I would definitely suggest using this if you get really dry skin or flaky skin.
The scrub is priced at £8.00, which I think is fairly priced because of the size of the product and because it's such good quality!!
Makeup Revolution Beyond Flawless Palette Review!
I don't think I have mentioned this eye shadow palette before, but my parents bought me it for my birthday in August and I have loved it ever since then!! It is my first proper eye shadow palette that I chose myself; of which I'm very proud!!
The outer packaging is gold and metallic and really pretty, on the back you can see all the shades within the palette, which is helpful for when your browsing all the palettes from the brand. However, the packaging is made of cardboard, which makes it easy to rip or ruin, but if you take good care of it, then you should be fine.
Inside the palette, there is a rather large mirror which is extremely helpful for if you're applying other makeup as well or if you just want a portable mirror. There are 32 shades in this palette that are all fairly neutral, with some slightly metallic shades or pigmented shades. The price of the palette is £8.00, which is amazing for 32 beautiful shades!!
However not all the shades are very pigmented, and they are more faint or light. So if you like really really pigmented eye shadow, then I wouldn't necessarily buy this specific palette but have a look at the other palettes from this brand.
I'm going to quickly categorize the shades!!
Matte:
Dove, Tawny, Sand Dune, Brunette, Nightfall and Blackest
Metallic:
Light Caramel, Chestnut, Bronze, Ground Brown, Autumn, Toasty, Spice, Sepia, Expresso, Warm Grey, Stone Grey
Sparkly (these shades aren't quite metallic but they are shimmery):
Flawless, Sandstone, Papaya, Zorba, Bare Pink, Pug, Immaculate, Wholemeal, Teddy, Mineral, Cookie Dough
Extremely Pigmented:
Cocoa, Bistre, Muddy
My personal favourite combinations of shades are...
1) Sand Dune, Zorba, Brunette and Flawless
2) Sandstone, Papaya and Dove
3) Wholemeal and Tawny
4) Immaculate, Cookie Dough
Overall, I think this is an amazing palette, that is really worth it's money!! This palette is very good for people who suit neutrals best but still want to spice up their eye makeup with some shimmery shades. I also think that the brand Makeup Revolution have created this individual palette in matte for the same price, which would make a great Christmas present!
Avon Makeup Setting Spray Review!!
I recently went to a wedding and was worried about my makeup all smudging or rubbing off, so my mum suggested I use a "makeup setting spray", and to be perfectly honest; I had never heard of such a product!!
I used the Avon Makeup Setting Spray which cost around £6.00, which is decent because the bottle is rather large (as seen below).
I was skeptical when first trying this but I applied the spray in the morning and it lasted until late that night, and I didn't have to spray more on my face or powder my face once!!
Although, I personally believe that this works best when you are wearing a lot of makeup rather than only wearing concealer for example. But it still lasts really long!!
I would definitely say that this is worth buying because it's so cheap (it will be on sale soon because of Christmas), and how big the bottle is!
This spray is a time saver because you don't have to reapply it or fuss over your makeup, for any of the day; I would 100% recommend buying this.
How to apply the spray
- Lightly shake the bottle before use
- Hold bottle 8-10 inches away from the face
- Close your eyes and spritz your face from 2 to 4 times
- If there are any wet patches, lightly dab at them to avoid dry patches
Make sure you spray it evenly otherwise, half of your makeup will stay in place and the other half won't!
My absence...
I just wanted to quickly apologize for my absence recently, as the last time I posted was a month ago!!
There are a couple of reasons for this, and I will just list them so I don't blab on for ages about it (I tend to do that a lot...)
There are a couple of reasons for this, and I will just list them so I don't blab on for ages about it (I tend to do that a lot...)
- I was going on holiday so I had to pack etc.
- I am in Year 11, so I have been making decisions regarding Sixth Forms and College, which has been difficult for me as I don't like change, and I'm bad at making decisions
- Once again because I'm in Year 11, I have a lot of school work do to
- I have mock exams coming up, so I have been revising
- I honestly have been stuck for ideas on what to post about
I am really sorry for being absent and missing out the deadlines on posting, I was hopefully this weekend going to film an Autumn Lookbook and upload it to my YouTube account ( m000ndust )
Revlon ColourBurst Lip Butter
I was given some Revlon Lip Butter's by a friend of mine, and I thought that I review them :)
I already have the lip butter in the shade Creme Brulee, and I always rave about it to everyone I know because it's just that good!!
Creme Brulee
This shade is quite light, and it gives a glossy and slightly beige tint to the lips. This lip butter looks good with a very neutral everyday makeup look, perfect for Autumn!
Sugar Plum
This shade is beautiful! It isn't as dark as it seems, but it still gives a lovely purple shine to the lips. This would suit a darker makeup look, maybe at night when going out at night. Or as an everyday look because darker colours are in for this Autumn. This would even go nicely on Halloween, if you're dressing up!!
Strawberry Shortcake
This shade is really pretty in my opinion, and as these lip butter's give a slight tint to the lip and aren't very heavy, I find it much easier to wear them regularly. This shade would be lovely in Spring (which is ages away I know) or with a pink everyday look in the Winter.
All of these Lip Butter's are priced at £7.99
Rimmel London Stay Matte Powder VS Clear Complexion Powder
I thought I would compare Rimmel London's Powder's for you all today :)
Stay Matte Pressed Powder
This powder is definitely my favourite out of the two, because you don't have to use a lot of it for it to mattify your skin, you can just lightly sweep it over your skin and your skin appears really soft and flawless. It cover's spots and blemishes very easily and it has a very long coverage so you don't have to keep applying tons of it throughout the day!
The compact is a decent size but it will still easily fit in a makeup bag or handbag, and the product is priced at £3.99, which is a good price in my opinion.
Clear Complexion Powder
This powder was the first powder I have actually ever used, so I was quite naive when buying it. I am kinda pale as well, so I thought that the previously mentioned powder would make me look orange (I don't know?!), so I went with the clear powder instead. This powder does need to be applied regularly from what I have gathered and you need to apply it thickly to prevent having to constantly be putting this on. It does clarify the skin and soften it though. I also believe that this powder is better for sensitive skin, but I may be wrong.
This powder is also priced at £3.99, so it doesn't make a difference whether or not you purchase this powder or the other one, but I would recommend the Stay Matte Powder.
Lush Bathbomb haul/review
Hi :)
I was going to do a September Favourites but then I came to realise that I haven't actually tried anything new during the month of September, so a good friend of mine Ellie (ellieisallama on YouTube) suggested I did a Lush Bathbomb haul/review instead :)
**none of these photos were taken by me (as my camera doesn't seem to be working) I don't own these photos**
First off is the new bathbomb Frozen:
This new bathbomb is dedicated to the Disney film Frozen, which means the bathbomb is obviously light and icy blue shades, which is really pretty in my opinion. The price of the bathbomb was £3.95 which I think is decent considering how big the bathbomb actually is.
After putting the bathbomb in water, the water turned a lovely shimmery turquoise colour with lots of bubbles!! I then realised that after using this bathbomb, my skin and the bath were both covered in glitter and glistening!
This bathbomb contains Rose Oil which is beneficial as it can relieve anxiety, and balance hormones. Rose oil is also beneficial to the skin as it reduces acne (although I wouldn't put this bathbomb all over your face..)
It also contains Grapefruit Oil which is also good at helping cure acne and it helps reduce oily skin. It also helps relieve cramp and stiffness in the muscles. There is also Neroli Oil within the bathbomb, which helps cure scarring and spots, skin infections and protects against coughs and colds. The full list of ingredients will be on the official Lush website.
I would recommend using this bathbomb before a night out because of the glitter within the bathbomb, I probably wouldn't suggest using this before school or work also because of the glitter however - and you may get compared to Edward Cullen... but it completely depends on your preferences.
Secondly, there is the Experimenter bathbomb:
This is also a new bathbomb that Lush have introduced. The first thing to address is the unusual shape of the bathbomb, I'm not entirely sure what shape this would be but it is strange for a bathbomb, as all other Lush products are mostly spherical. But I like that they're mixing things up a bit.
This bathbomb is also priced at £3.95, which is once again quite cheap in my opinion, I am actually quite surprised that they didn't charge more for this bathbomb due to it's strange appearance.
The bathbomb is also coloured quite strangely as the colours seem to be quite random, but once again I think that it makes it more interesting.
After placing the bathbomb in water, the colours from the bathbomb disappeared immediately into the water and made the bathwater look like a rainbow, which was sweet. But after a while, the bathwater went a strange grey or dingy green colour, which was both surprising and disappointing. But I suppose that it would have happened because of the wide variety of colours used in the bathbomb, making the odd grey colour inevitable.
This bathbomb contains Vanilla Essential oil which helps to lower blood pressure, relax the brain and nerves, and reduce high fevers. There is also Vetiver Essential oil in the bathbomb, which helps speed up the eradication of scars from the skin, provides relief from all types of inflammation, and rejuvenates the body. There will once again be a full list of the ingredients on the official Lush website.
I would definitely recommend using this bathbomb, especially after a long day, as it is very relaxing and contains lots of relaxing and relieving ingredients. I would say that the grey colour it turned to after a few minutes was disappointing but that wouldn't stop me from repurchasing this product.
And, finally the Sakura bathbomb:
I think this is one of the older Lush bathbombs compared to the previous two, my first initial impressions of this bathbomb were that it was pretty, it smelt nice and floral, and that it wouldn't really surprise me in any way, and sadly I was right. This bathbomb is £3.50 but to be honest I think it should be more interesting for the price it is.
It was after putting the bathbomb in the bathwater that I quickly became disappointed, there wasn't really much difference to the bathwater, the water turned a little bit misty and that seemed to be it. I had expected some kind of surprise but nothing happened, I expected more from Lush.
This bathbomb contains Orange Flower Absolute, which is similar to Neroli Oil (previously mentioned), this oil soothes and calms the nerves. There is also Mimosa Absolute Oil within this bathbomb, which helps to nourish, soften and soothe, inflamed, oily or sensitive skin. This oil also helps to combat stress and worry.
Additionally, there is Lemon Oil in this bathbomb, which helps act as a antiseptic to fight acne. It also helps provide a natural toner to help balance and rejuvenate oily skin, it can also help to soothe and smoothen rough skin. Once again, the full list of ingredients will be on the official Lush website.
I was slightly disappointed with this product and the lack of colour etc, but it has a lot of benefits to it, which can be rather helpful.
I hope this was helpful :)
Back to School Advice!
It is a well known fact that not many people particularly enjoy going back to school after the summer holidays, and yes it may be a miserable time - but it doesn't mean that you have to be miserable!!
I have put together some advice, tips on surviving school, and reasons why it isn't that bad!!
Why going back to school isn't that bad
- Time goes a lot faster than you realize, meaning that you should be spending the time effectively and making memories for the future!! (as well as working and revising of course!..)
- You can get back into a routine again, and actually be organised, rather than waking up and not knowing what day it is (is it just me who didn't know what day it was for 6 weeks?..)
- The idea of being in a new class or even a new school can be nerve-wracking, but just think about how many friends you will make, and how fun it will be meeting new people
- You aren't the only person who is nervous!! Everyone will be feeling the same way!
- Going back to school means a bag, new stationary, new lunchbox - NEW EVERYTHING!!!!
Advice and tips
- Make sure you have all the school essentials that you need and prepare your bag the night before you go back to school, so that you aren't stressed the next morning (and can sleep in for a bit)
- If you are scared about going back to school because of bullies, then talk to a parent, or guardian about it, or even a talk to a helpline if you don't feel comfortable telling someone you know, but don't bottle it all up - that never helps!!
- When it comes to homework, don't leave it until the last minute, it means that you will be rushing to do the work, and won't be putting in the right amount of thought and effort to do it.
- You could even create a homework schedule, to help keep you in a routine and so that you can allocate work times and times for breaks and meeting up with friends
- Focus when in school, even though not everything they teach will be useful, it will help you pass exams which will give you better opportunities in life
- Sleep is important, so don't go to bed too late, or too early, you need the right amount of sleep, and too much or too little can both affect you
- Never skip breakfast, it is vital and it helps you get through the mornings! Plus it means your tummy won't rumble in class
- Don't hate on new teachers, they are probably just as nervous as you are, if you're nice, both of your lives will be easier!!
- And remember to STAY POSITIVE!!!! You won't get anything good out of being sad and moody all the time, spread the joy!!
I hope that this was helpful to everyone!! I don't like going back to school, but I try to stay as positive as I can so that everyone around me is happy as well, school is much better when everyone is happy rather than when everyone is grumpy!!
Collection 2000 Longer Lash Mascara review!
UPDATE: I was really nervous but excited today because I got my GCSE results back!! And I did really well!! Plus it's my birthday the day after I post this (the 21st)!!!
Going to get right in with the review, so that I can write a few more!
I was quite let down with this product and it's quality because I adore the Collection 2000 lipsticks and use them quite regularly, but Collection 2000 is a really cheap brand, so I'm not that bothered that this mascara was awful. Plus I bought it on offer.
Firstly, the packaging isn't that great, let's face it, it's pretty bad. I had already been looking for a lengthening mascara, but if I hadn't then I'm pretty sure I would have still noticed the almost neon orange packaging.
When I opened the mascara it looked really dry and clumpy, so I was anxious to try it out. And when I did, my fears were right, and the mascara barely made a difference to my eyelashes, and was extremely clumpy.
To be perfectly honest I wouldn't recommend this to anyone, it was around £2 I think, but you should just save your money and buy lots of Freddos!! I mean come on who doesn't love Freddos?!
And sorry this was kinda short, I have much longer posts coming in the near future!!
Thanks for reading as always!! Byee xx
Soap and Glory Greatest Scrub of all review
Helloooo! I'm now back from being on holiday so I can post more!!
When I was on holiday, half way through the holiday my skin suddenly broke out really badly all over my face, and I've never really had spotty skin or acne (I'm a blessed teenager), so this was a really horrible and surprising experience for me.
I didn't know what had caused it, it could have been an allergic reaction, from being in the sun too much, or anything else really.
But then I realized that I had forgotten to pack my Soap and Glory Greatest Scrub of all, which I use every evening and morning, and this product actually keeps my skin pretty clear most of the time.
I have also previously mentioned that I get dry skin, which can get a little bit flaky (only when the weather is really hot and dry), and this also helps very very well for that!
This face scrub is a a definite must have in my skin routine, it leaves your skin feeling really soft and fresh, I wouldn't definitely guarantee that this prevents spots, but whenever I use it, I don't have my spots or the spot (s) that I do have go down and appear less red.
I love the packaging for this face scrub, but I just love Soap and Glory packaging in general - it's all so cute!! The price of this facial scrub is £9.00, which isn't too bad because I would say it's worth it and the packaging is quite big.
I would definitely recommend this for people with oily or kinda dry skin, but just be careful if you have really sensitive skin, because scrubbing at your skin isn't the best idea.
I hope you enjoyed this, and I will have some more posts up very soon! I also changed my Instagram name because I was kinda bored with my old one.
Holiday beauty essentials!
When going on holiday I like to take a lot of beauty products with me, which is really bad because I pack loads anyway. But here are my absolute beauty essentials that I need with me when going on holiday...
Like I said before, your skin will really dry out if you're on holiday somewhere really hot. It's probably really obvious that I LOVE the brand Nivea and recommend it in most of my posts, and I cannot praise it any more then I always do. This is a lovely product, and it really does keep your skin soft and moisturised throughout the day.
- Nivea lip balm
This is probably my most re-bought beauty item ever!! It's so good at helping sore and dry lips and that's what you really need when you're at the beach or somewhere hot and your skin and lips begin to dry out.
- Nivea moisturiser
Like I said before, your skin will really dry out if you're on holiday somewhere really hot. It's probably really obvious that I LOVE the brand Nivea and recommend it in most of my posts, and I cannot praise it any more then I always do. This is a lovely product, and it really does keep your skin soft and moisturised throughout the day.
- Soap and Glory body butter
I definitely recommend using Soap and Glory body butter (all their products are great!) as they do as the packaging says, they are a little heavy on the skin, but that can be prevented by using small amounts at a time. Soap and Glory Smoothie Star body butter is my favourite though!! It smells of almonds and vanilla!
- Maybelline Lash Sensational mascara
I know I only recently bought this product (It was one of my recent posts) but I love it to bits and it's a great mascara that you can build up over the day, so you could have a small amount on during the day for a subtle look, and then towards the evening apply more for a better look for night time.
- Rimmel London Wake Me Up Concealer
When on holiday I like to stay away from putting on loads of make up because I feel like it makes me break out with spots and pimples, so I like to be more natural and either not wear any concealer or just lightly put on a little under my eyes, which is where I get black circles really badly sometimes. If you feel the same, I would definitely suggest Rimmel London Wake Me Up Concealer, because it's really light and it doesn't feel cakey at all.
- The Body Shop Shimmer Cubes
I really like these because they are really good for spicing up your eye make-up for night-time or for a really nice look during the day when it's sunny, I have been trying more Body Shop products lately and I have been finding them really reliable and nice to use.
That's all for today, but I should be posting more around August because that's when I get back from on holiday.
I hope you enjoyed this post :) xx
Collection 2000 Deluxe Lipstick review!!
The other day I bought a new lipstick from Collection 2000 called Deluxe Lipstick, in the shade Tallulah. And honestly it's soooooo good!!
I haven't ever really been big on lipsticks or any lip products that weren't lip balm, but lately I have been more interested in them. This shade is so lovely and it would look nice with lots of different summery outfits!
The price of the product is around £3.00 (I bought it on sale), which is a bargain!! Collection 2000 have really impressed me - so much that I want to explore their brand a bit more!
I hope you enjoyed this! xx
I haven't ever really been big on lipsticks or any lip products that weren't lip balm, but lately I have been more interested in them. This shade is so lovely and it would look nice with lots of different summery outfits!
The packaging of this lipstick isn't that interesting or eye catching to be perfectly honest, but it's nice, and it's a decent size. When applying the lipstick, it was a little tough at first - but that's because it was new. After a while, it becomes more 'buttery' and soft to apply, which feels nice.
It gives quite a matte finish and look (despite the above photo), so if you prefer glossy lipsticks or anything of the such, then this wouldn't be for you.
The price of the product is around £3.00 (I bought it on sale), which is a bargain!! Collection 2000 have really impressed me - so much that I want to explore their brand a bit more!
I hope you enjoyed this! xx
Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara review!
My Topshop Doe Eyes mascara seems to be running out, so I wanted to try out a new mascara, so I could try out different looks. I stumbled upon the Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara and absolutely fell in love!!
I'm going to start off by talking about the packaging. I have to say I absolutely love the packaging of this mascara! The champagne colour of the packaging is beautiful! And it definitely caught my eye when I was shopping! The shape isn't the most convenient because it's not that easy to stand up, but you still can. The packaging is also fairly large, so that means there is a lot of mascara to be used.
The mascara wand itself is so nice! I really like thin and defined lashes so this wand really appealed to me. After first using it, it was a little gloopy but that's because I didn't gently dab it onto a face wipe beforehand, and all new mascaras tend to be like that. But after a while of using this product and gently dabbing it onto a face wipe before applying it, it is easier to use and it looks better,
I have to say this is quickly becoming my new favourite mascara!! I haven't really used that many Maybelline products but the great quality of this mascara is definitely making me want to try out more of their products. The price is pretty reasonable for a mascara (£8.00), but that's just my opinion.
All in all, I haven't really got one bad thing to say about this product (not that I can think of), and I would definitely recommend this product!!
Thanks for reading and I hope this was helpful!
Current Beauty Favourites!
Throughout June and early July I have been gathering together some of my favourite beauty products, such as skin care, make up, hair products (that sort of stuff). I'm just gonna get started straight away, because I do have a few to get through.
I have been having bad skin for a while now, where my skin has been very dry and patchy, so I thought I would try out a face scrub to try and get rid of any bits of dead or dry skin. I have loved Soap and Glory for what feels like forever, and I recommend every product of theirs to people I know. I tried out their Facial Polish (same thing as a scrub really). It's called 'The Greatest Scrub of all'. I would definitely recommend this product, after a few times using it, my skin began to improve and there was a noticeable difference. If you put this on your face and gently rub it in, in a circular motion and leave it for a few minutes and then wash your face, your skin will feel much smoother.
Lately I have been absolutely loving lipsticks/lip butters/lip products, so I thought I would start with a few of those.
My absolute favourite lip product ever (I mean it) has to be the Revlon Lip Butter range!! There are so many different beautiful shades, which means there is a great selection to choose from. Even though they are a drugstore product (affordable products that are less on the pricey side) they are around £8 or £9, which I think is slightly overpriced for the quality, as you do have to re-apply it after a while. But they both feel and smell amazing, so I think it's worth it.
My personal favourite colours are Creme Brulee, Cotton Candy, Sugar Plum and Strawberry Shortcake.
I have long hair which means my hair can get very dry, and I've probably tried every shampoo and conditioner there is and had no results - until now! I started using the Garnier Ultimate Blends Coconut sleek restorer shampoo and conditioner a while back and since then I have seen good results! My hair hasn't been as dry and it feels really soft and sleek, which I like.
So I would definitely suggest you use these products (use them together).
Because it's Summer and it's getting warmer, my skin has been getting dry which I absolutely hate!! So I found my Soap and Glory Smoothie Star buttercream! I cannot even describe how nice this smells - it's honestly heaven. It isn't too thick which means that when it's hot it doesn't make you feel sticky or gross. It is really good at making skin softer and smoother, and the container is very big so you won't run out really quickly.
I have been having problems with my nails for a long long long time now, where the cuticles rip or my nails are just very brittle (bendy), and I have been looking for solutions for a long time now. And I haven't really found anything that would work, but I had a look in The Body Shop and they had this Almond and Cuticle Oil. I have been using it for a little while now, and honestly each time I use it, my nails feel stronger afterwards. It also smells nice :)
I like to have nice eyebrows (who doesn't) and I have used this for a long time, but I keep having to go and re-buy it because I love it that much!! Definitely would recommend this, nothing bad to say about Soap and Glory - as per usual.
Me and my sister have been using these face masks for a little while now, and I can't praise them enough!! They are just great, there is a wide variety of colours and scents and flavours (don't eat them though). The brand is called Montagne Jeunesse, these face masks are fun for a girly night in or before a night out!
I hope you enjoyed this post, because I'm thinking of doing more of these and making it a monthly thing:)
Miss Sporty Pump up booster 24 hour mascara review
Wow that is a long title..
Anyway - I have been trying out the Miss Sporty Pump up booster 24 hour mascara, and I thought I would a review on the product.
First of all, the packaging is well..interesting...I didn't really like it very much, the colours reminded me of Tony the Tiger, which isn't a bad thing but I didn't find it appealing, the colours clashed and the shape of the mascara was annoying because it wouldn't stand up.
I found the mascara itself very gloopy and thick which made it hard to apply, the mascara went clumpy when on my eyelashes so I had to use another mascara wand to even it out a little bit. I prefer to have thinner lashes and this made my eyelashes very thick. But if you like that look, then this kind of product would be the right direction to go in.
The only thing I really liked about the product was that It did what it said - stayed on for 24 hours without running.
Overall I didn't really liked the product and wouldn't really recommend it due to the thickness and that it made my eyelashes clumpy.
This has been a short post because I am currently writing a longer one about my favourite beauty products at the moment.
I hope you enjoyed this review and found it useful/helpful :)
Rimmel London Wake me up concealer/foundation review
Once again I apologize for not posting as often - as I've said many a time, I have exams and I'm busy revising (or sleeping).
Here's a little back story on why I'm doing a review of the Rimmel London Wake me up concealer and foundation. For a long time now I had only been using the Rimmel London "Hide the blemish concealer", and no foundation on top or whatever, then lately my skin began getting little dry patches. These dry patches were making it hard to apply the concealer as the concealer would just stick to the dry patches and not cover any spots or blemishes of any kind. So I decided to try out the Rimmel London Wake me up concealer (and later the foundation).
I wanted to do a review about both the concealer and the foundation as I have tried both products, hopefully this review helps in some kind of way and makes you decide to try the products or helps you in avoiding purchasing them.
First I shall review the concealer...
I don't actually know what shade I bought the concealer in as the label has rubbed off and it doesn't mention the colour on the packaging. I think I bought Soft Beige....
The colour of the concealer did match my skin fairly well as I have quite fair/pale skin (with slight yellow and pink undertones). I found that the coverage was very good in some areas - but on my dry patches of skin, I did find it a little harder to use, but after using a little more moisturizer it worked much better.
I also found the concealer very long lasting, especially where my dark circles were, and I didn't have to touch up my makeup throughout the day at all.
I have very odd skin as I have some dry patches but then my T-Zone is kind of oily (the T-Zone is from your forehead, down your nose and onto your chin - the shape forms a T). This concealer is better for people who have oilier skin as I found that the concealer mattified my T-Zone slightly, but for people who have much dryer skin I wouldn't really recommend this concealer as you don't want to make your skin look any more dry, you want it to look a bit more dewy and soft.
The packaging the concealer came in was very compact, so it would be good to take on the go, and I liked the shade of orange that the concealer wand handle came in.
The only real problem with the concealer was that it didn't come in the widest variety of shades, and that matching the concealer to the foundation was extremely confusing. It's really hard to explain. but I shall try...
Okay, so I purchased the concealer Soft Beige, and then I bought the foundation in the shade Ivory. (This is where it gets confusing) But when I got home and compared the shades, the foundation and concealer didn't match...It looked like the foundation shade was much darker compared to the concealer, even though Ivory is (should be) lighter than Soft Beige.
~I'm sorry if none of that made sense btw, it's hard to explain~
Now I'm going to talk about the foundation.
Okay, so I purchased the Wake me up foundation in the shade 100 Ivory, I trusted what the bottle said in that the shade was Ivory - but it was extremely dark, like I said earlier, my skin is fairly pale so this didn't really sit well with me, (it looked much better after I blended it quite a bit more than I usually would and added powder).
The foundation did have good coverage. (it was okay covering my dry patches), and It did last a very long time.
I really liked the packaging of the foundation, the bottler was glass which made it seem more expensive and fancy and the foundation did have a pump so I didn't have to pour it onto the back of my wrist like with some other foundations out there. And they used the same nice shade of orange for both the concealer and foundation.
The only real trouble was when I was having particularly bad skin days where my skin was extremely dry, the foundation didn't cover as well and made me look orange and patchy,so If you did have very dry skin, I wouldn't use this foundation, but if your skin has some dry days and some more normal and clearer days then I would recommend purchasing this foundation.
My only major problem that annoyed me was how the colour's of both the foundation and concealer weren't consistent, and that the colour Ivory was somehow darker than the shade Soft Beige, and if I didn't blend the foundation a lot then I would look like an orange.
I hope sharing my experience of using these products did help you in some way :)
Girly films
I was off school the other day and of course this meant that I would spend my day snuggled up doing nothing but watching films. One of my favourite genres is rom-coms (I'm not ashamed) so I got to thinking - what are the best rom-coms (or just romantic) films?
So I made a list of my personal favourite girly films and decided to share it! (these aren't really in a ranking order)
1) You've got mail (Tom Hanks, Meg Ryan)
Plot: 'Two business rivals hate each other at the office but love each other on the internet'
I absolutely love this film, I can't even express my love for this film. Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan have a lot of chemistry and I think that it shows throughout the film, I most definitely recommend you should watch this!!!
2) The Notebook (Ryan Gosling, Rachel McAdams)
Plot: A poor and passionate young man falls in love with a rich young woman and gives her a sense of freedom. They soon are separated by their social differences.
This is probably one of the saddest films I have ever watched in my entire life. Although I would still recommend this film - you just might want to stock up on some Kleenex.
3) 10 things I hate about you (Julia Styles, Heath Ledger, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Larisa Oleynik)
Plot: A new kid must find a guy to date the meanest girl in school,
the older sister of the girl he has a crush on,
who cannot date until her older sister does.
This film is hilarious, and I have shown it to many of my friends, who have also greatly enjoyed this! Julia Styles and Heath Ledger (<3) are adorable in this film and I would highly recommend it.
4) When Harry met Sally (Meg Ryan, Billy Crystal)
Plot: Harry and Sally have known each other for years,
and are very good friends,
but they fear sex would ruin the friendship.
I really found this film amusing, and the chemistry between these actors was so obvious right from the start. It's one of those films where you can watch it time and time again and not get bored or lose interest.
5) Sleepless in Seattle (Tom Hanks, Meg Ryan)
Plot: A recently widowed man's son calls a radio talk-show in an attempt to find his father a partner.
I think I have a girl crush on Meg Ryan...I still can't express how much I love Meg Ryan and Tom Hanks acting together, I do prefer You've got mail though. I still think everyone should have seen this at least once in their life (lol what).
6) The Time Traveller's Wife (Eric Bana, Rachel McAdams)
Plot: A romantic drama about a Chicago librarian,
with a gene that causes him to involuntarily time travel,
and the complications it creates for his marriage.
I watched this film with my sister, best friend and her brother, it's safe to say we all cried at some point.... This film isn't quite as sad as The Notebook, but it's a close second.
7) The Vow (Rachel McAdams, Channing Tatum)
Plot: A car accident puts Paige in a coma,
and when she wakes up with severe memory loss,
her husband Leo works to win her heart again.
This film didn't really make me feel sad, which makes me sound heartless, but it is definitely enjoyable, and is it just me or is Rachel McAdams the QUEEN of romantic films - face it, she's been in everything!!
That's all folks! I hope you enjoyed this post! Feel free to check out my previous posts if you haven't already :)
