Moving on

Lately I haven't been posting much because I have increasingly been finding it more difficult to write on this blogging platform.

I feel very limited in how I can design my blog and make it the best I can be, and unfortunately this has led me to decide to move my blog onto Wordpress.com
Basically I'm going to move my posts from this blog onto my new one just so that there is old content, and I will also be renaming my blog to something I prefer and is more grown up.

Hopefully after I move my blog over there, I will post more interesting things (other than reviews), such as baking, recipes, lookbooks, DIY, how to's, makeup tips, makeup tutorials, and "top 10's".
I hope that everyone who reads this blog will follow me over onto my new and improved blog as I have worked really hard on it!!

My new blog name is SunsetBoulevard and the link to my new blog is www.sunsetboulevardsite.wordpress.com

Thank you for sticking with me so far, and hopefully you will continue to follow me as a blogger :)

Maybelline Blushed Nudes Palette

Hey guys,

For my birthday I was given the Maybelline Blushed Nudes Palette which I am absolutely in love with!!
As you can see this palette provides you with 12 shades that include a mixture of matte and shimmery colours. From this palette you can create many many looks, such as a blush pink, smokey pink, coral pink, smokey purple etc etc.

On the back of the packaging, you are given a sheet of suggested colour combinations that range from paired shades, to four different shades grouped together to create the perfect blushed eyeshadow looks!

          (The suggested combinations are shown above)

The actual palette itself is actually quite small and compact, which makes it ideal for travelling and going on holiday. However, I wouldn't say this palette gives you a complete range of shades, as there are only 1 or 2 matte shades. This is what I didn't like about the palette.

Although there is great pigmentation with this palette, and a little bit of product goes a long way!

 The cost of this palette is £9.99, which is good for a drugstore palette. Although, this is also probably the reason for the products "fall out" (the amount of eyeshadow that falls off your eyelid onto your face), but that problem can always be fixed with a little concealer.

This palette is perfect for any season as you get a variety of blush shades like pink, champagne, taupe and so on.
I would certainly recommend this product as it is relatively cheap and provides you with a good variety of blush shades (although they are mostly shimmery).

***disclaimer- none of these photos are taken by me, and it is the same for all of my posts, if I do take the photo I will state so***

Max Factor Miracle Touch Foundation

Hi guys,

Today I'm going to talk about a foundation that I have begun using. This foundation is unusual for me because it comes in a compact; rather than in a bottle or tube.

 This product is described as a "unique and lightweight solid to liquid formula", which is good as you can get a light as well as a high coverage from this foundation; without it looking "cakey".

The formula is really nice and gives you the perfect base for your makeup - without any hassle. You just sweep the foundation across your face and blend it in gently. Although, it does give you a rather dewy finish, so if you prefer a matte look then this probably isn't for you. I would also recommend that you used extra powder anyway, as this foundation can look slightly greasy after a while.

Furthermore, the product states that it "removes the need for the application of concealer", which I have found to be true. Which could actually save you money on a concealer! Although if you like to use a concealer for highlighting purposes then I would recommend that you bought a separate product for that.

Like I said before, the packaging is quite unusual for a foundation, but with it being in compact form means that this is a good foundation to take on the go with you.

The price of this product is £6.99, making it on the pricier side of drugstore foundations, although I would definitely say that this product is worth buying. As this foundation will give you a fresh, flawless and smooth finish!

Benefit Hoola Bronzer

I have been lusting after this bronzer for absolutely ages now! I was fortunate enough to be given it as a present for my birthday by my parents; here's my review of it!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This is most definitely my favourite bronzer!!!
The packaging of this bronzer is adorable! And it very compact which is handy, as you can easily take this with you on holiday or out and about in general.
The product comes with a little brush the help you bronze and contour your face with; which is a bonus. Plus there is a little mirror on the inside of the lid, so that you can also use this product when travelling.
The bronzer itself is absolutely incredible as it compliments many different skin tones, which is unusual for a bronzer. Initially, I thought that this bronzer would be too dark for my complexion - but I was entirely wrong! Just a tiny amount of this product dusted across my forehead and cheekbones looked so natural, and not muddy or orange! (which normally happens to me with bronzers).
This product is priced at £23.50 (full size product) and I believe the mini version is priced at around £10, which both are pretty ridiculous prices to be paying for a bronzer - no matter how good it is.
However, you don't need to use a lot of this product for it to be visible, which means that you won't run out of this product quickly (no matter what size of product you have). So if you do decide to purchase this product, or currently own it...USE IT WISELY!!!
Benefit Roller Lash!!
Hi everyone :)
Firstly, I just wanted to state that my lack of posting is because I've been having problems with my laptop recently, and I have had trouble using it entirely, hopefully I have fixed the problem which means I can now continue to post on a more frequent basis.
I was really lucky this year to have gotten so many wonderful presents from my friends and family, and I'm extremely thankful for that, and I just wanted to state that the products talked about in the upcoming posts were not purchased by myself.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I was very lucky to be given the Benefit Roller Lash Mascara by my friend Millie (who also has a blog called The Baking Llama).

I have loved this mascara from afar ever since it came out but i've never had the guts to spend £19.50 (priced at this in most stores), on a mascara that I might not end up liking.

The formula of this mascara has no faults in my opinion, as it smooth and doesn't clump easily, it also supposedly "lasts for 12 hours", this mascara is also very easy to remove.

The brush of the mascara is slightly curved which helps lifts the lashes without making them look unnatural, and the combination of the shape of the brush and the formula of the mascara also gives your eyelashes a long lasting curl.

The brush is said to "grab, separate, lift and curl", which I can confirm it does! I would go as far as saying that you wouldn't need to curl your lashes before using this mascara.

The only downside in my opinion is the price of the product, yes I love this mascara but I'm sure there are cheaper alternatives out there that do the exact same things. But with Benefit, I would definitely say that you're paying for the brand name as well as the product.
